A parent who knows, an attorney who caresJulie Michaels Keegan is an experienced attorney who has devoted her practice to meeting the needs of children with differing abilities in the school setting. Having negotiated the special education system on behalf of her own two sons, Julie understands firsthand the challenges parents face when trying to obtain the right educational environment and related services for a child with special needs. She also knows the importance of future care planning for special children. Julie is a magna cum laude graduate of Albany Law School, is a member of the Council of Parent Advocates and Attorneys, the Special Education Task Force in Albany, the NYS Bar Association’s Committee on Issues Affecting Persons with Disabilities, and is a Governing Board member of the Center for Disability Services.
